The storytelling hasn't always been the strong suit in the Fast and Furious franchise, and 2 Fast 2 Furious is no different in that regard. While the plot regarding Carter Verone is somewhat interesting and provides a fun mix of action and suspense, t he dialogue is often laughable and occasionally off-putting.

Since most of the major characters from the original film are out, the sequel introduces a few new members to the mix. This includes Roman Pearce Tyrese Gibson , one of Brian's childhood friends and an overall troublemaker.

The dialogue often boils down to these two characters bouncing one-liners off each other, whether during an intense shoot-out, a planning phase, or a car chase. Generally speaking, the story leaves a lot to be desired, but it works as a way to deliver some crazy action. You'll see some absolutely wicked car action, and while the practical effects hold up better than the CGI, most of it is still tons of fun. By stepping away from the underground street racing story of the first movie and substituting it with a gangster flick set in Florida, the narrative has some opportunities for truly wacky and fun sequences.

Even though 2 Fast 2 Furious is pretty lackluster in terms of script and acting, it still delivers exciting action. Overall, thisis an entertaining yet severely flawed sequel. The story is paper-thin and predictable, but the action keeps things refreshing all the same.
